Happy 2nd Birthday!

Sam turned two today.  He had a great day.  He didn't understand that it was his birthday but he had fun.  He especially loved his blueberry muffin with cream cheese frosting.  He ate all of the frosting first and had the biggest mustache.

Megan gave him a tractor that came with playdoh.  The tractor makes little barrels and then you can pick them up with the scooper.  We played with playdoh last week so he knows what it is and he carried that little container around the rest of the night (we did gifts after dinner).  He wanted to take it to bed with him and he was disappointed when I told him it had to stay downstairs.

We gave him a little tent with a tunnel off of one side.  He loves to barricade himself under our tables, or in corners, etc so I knew he would love it.  He immediately started taking toys into it and just had a blast.  Megan is not fond of tunnels but he almost got her to climb in.  She loved watching him play in it.

We also gave him a little car with a handle.  When you pull the trigger it blows bubbles.  He doesn't know about the bubbles part yet, but he will find out tomorrow when we take it outside.  I think it is going to be a big hit since he is very into bubbles right now.

His last gift from us was a big board book with lots and lots of flaps to lift.  He loves the flaps in books but until recently he just tore them off.  This was a big deal for him to get his own flap book.

When we got back from the farm this afternoon Debi had left his gift on our front porch.  She had tied two helium balloons to a sand bucket and filled it with a giant shovel and rake, a ball, some plastic lizards and a watering can.  I do not know how he knew this but as soon as he saw the gift on the porch he said "Debi".

I checked his molar when I put him to bed and it is almost all the way broken through so I am thinking that by morning he will have all of his 2 year molars.  Tomorrow is his 2-year checkup and I will post his "stats" after that visit.
